Know What Topics To Avoid
There are some topics that you can’t talk about at a wedding, and you should make sure to avoid them in your speech. First, of course, is anything negative or political. And no matter how funny you might think they are, someone is bound to be offended if you try to share jokes about physical appearance, race or ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religion. Before including it in your speech, consider whether any topic would hurt anyone’s feelings.
Keep It Short and Sweet
Even if you’re a good public speaker, keeping people’s attention for more than 3 minutes is still difficult. If your speech runs longer than that, chances are most people will start to lose interest. Practice Makes Perfect
Practice delivering your speech aloud at least three times, preferably in front of a mirror.
